KKR VS PBKS: As It Happens….
In this remarkable match, Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to field first. KKR, batting first, set a record-breaking total of 261 runs. KKR’s opening pair, Phil Salt and Sunil Narine, started aggressively, putting together a partnership of 130 runs for the first wicket in ten overs. Sunil Narine scored 71 runs off 32 balls, while Phil Salt contributed 75 runs off 37 balls.
Additionally, Venkatesh Iyer scored 39 runs and Andre Russell contributed 24 runs for KKR, while captain Shreyas Iyer played a powerful innings, adding 28 runs with 3 sixes off just ten balls to help the team reach the formidable total of 261 runs.

Chasing 262 runs, Punjab Kings also got off to a flying start as Prabhasimran Singh and Johnny Bairstow took the team to 93 runs in the powerplay. In his innings of 54 runs, Prabhasimran Singh hit 5 sixes and 4 fours. Thus, out of his 54 runs, Prabhasimran Singh scored 46 runs solely through boundaries and sixes.
Architect of Punjab Kings’ victory: Johnny Bairstow
For Punjab, Johnny Bairstow played a stunning inning, contributing 108 runs off 48 balls and guiding the team to victory. Punjab’s Hurricane: Shashank Singh
Taking the field after Russo’s departure, Shashank Singh outperformed Johnny Bairstow. He smashed 8 sixes and 2 fours in his innings of 68 runs. Consequently, Shashank Singh accumulated 56 of his 68 runs solely through boundaries and sixes, steering the team to chase down the target of 262 runs with eight balls to spare.
Taking into account KKR’s bowling performance, it’s evident that, apart from Sunil Narine, all the bowlers struggled, proving to be quite expensive. Sunil Narine managed to take one wicket for just 24 runs in his four overs. In contrast, the rest of KKR’s bowling attack collectively conceded 236 runs in 14.4 overs!!!
